Runpod usage (concepts)
Background knowledge for making the right choice before you act. This skill runs nothing — once you know what to do, execute with runpod-mcp/runpodctl (infra), flash (your own code), or companion-clis (models/images/data).
This skill explains; the golden paths demonstrate. When the question is really "how do I do X" rather than "how does X work", the verified end-to-end example is the faster answer — runpod/golden-paths/README.md. Read the concept here, then follow the path.
To author files for a custom template, use runpod-build-template; this lane supplies the shared concepts, not a competing packaging workflow.

Exact facts: the concept files
The reference files explain. For a precise fact, or a rule an action must satisfy, read
the concept files in concepts/ next to this file. There is one YAML file per concept
(pod.yaml, network-volume.yaml, machine.yaml, …), each with its fields, states,
relations and rules, and every rule cites the public source it comes from.
grep -il "volume disk" concepts/*.yaml # find the concept by name or alias

FAQ
What does the runpod-usage skill do?
Explain Runpod architecture and design choices: Pods versus Serverless, GPU/VRAM, image construction, storage, networking, and workload development. For creating or improving a complete template project use runpod-build-template; execute infrastructure with runpodctl/runpod-mcp and code-first work with flash.
How do I install runpod-usage?
Run npx skills add https://github.com/runpod/runpod-plugins-official --skill runpod-usage in your project. The skills CLI detects the agents you use and copies the skill into the right folder. For Claude Code you can also place the skill folder at ~/.claude/skills/runpod-usage/ (personal) or .claude/skills/runpod-usage/ (project).
Which AI agents can use runpod-usage?
Any agent that supports the open Agent Skills format (a folder with a SKILL.md file), including Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Gemini CLI, Windsurf, Cline, OpenCode and more.
Is runpod-usage safe to install?
Security partners have reviewed it: Gen Agent Trust Hub passed; Socket passed; Snyk passed. As with any skill, read the SKILL.md and bundled scripts before installing.
Who maintains runpod-usage?

runpodctl
runpod/runpod-plugins-official
Runpod CLI for managing GPU/CPU workloads from the terminal — pods, serverless endpoints, templates, network volumes, Hub deploys, models, SSH, and file transfer (send/receive). Use for terminal/CI/scripting, SSH setup, doctor, or when the Runpod MCP tools are not connected; prefer runpod-mcp for structured tool calls in an MCP-enabled session.
flash
runpod/runpod-plugins-official
Write and deploy code-first Runpod Serverless with runpod-flash: @Endpoint/@remote, flash dev, resource configuration, and debugging. Use runpod-build-template for explicit Dockerfile/template project authoring, and runpodctl/runpod-mcp for infrastructure management.
companion-clis
runpod/runpod-plugins-official
Companion CLIs for Runpod workflows — HuggingFace, GitHub, Docker, and AWS. Use runpod-build-template for complete template project authoring, and the ComfyUI model-repair guide in runpod-templates for imported workflows lacking model download metadata.
runpod
runpod/runpod-plugins-official
Start here for any Runpod task — running GPU/CPU pods, deploying serverless endpoints, templates, network volumes, building images, or understanding how Runpod works. Routes to the right skill (runpod-mcp, runpodctl, flash, companion-clis, runpod-usage, runpod-templates, runpod-build-template, runpod-migrate) and indexes two dozen live-verified end-to-end examples (golden paths) — use it when the lane is unclear, and for any multi-step or provisioning task even when it is not.
runpod-mcp
runpod/runpod-plugins-official
Manage Runpod infrastructure through the connected Runpod MCP server's tool calls (pods, serverless endpoints and jobs, templates, network volumes, registry credentials, secrets, clusters, the GPU/CPU catalog, and billing), and connect the server when it is missing (hosted or local npx). Load it before the first Runpod MCP tool call of a request: it routes the task to the journey skill that carries the procedure, owns the answer contract and the rules on which resources you may change, and defers to runpodctl for the terminal, file transfer, and SSH setup; template project and Hub listing authoring routes to runpod-build-template.
runpod-migrate
runpod/runpod-plugins-official
Migrate a codebase from the Runpod GraphQL API or REST v1 to REST v2 — inventory which parts use which API version, rewrite the call sites, flag breaking changes, and verify. Use when someone asks to move to v2, asks what v2 would change, or asks which Runpod API their code is on. For managing infrastructure rather than migrating code, use runpod-mcp or runpodctl.
Popular ai & agents skills
google-agents-cli-publish
google/agents-cli
This skill should be used when the user wants to "publish an agent", "publish my ADK agent", "register an agent with Gemini", "publish to Gemini" (formerly Gemini Enterprise), or needs guidance on the agents-cli publish gemini command. Also use when the user wants to "manage agents in Agent Registry", "list/update/delete registered agents", or "register an MCP server". Covers ADK vs A2A registration modes, programmatic and interactive usage, flag reference, auto-detection from deployment metadata, Agent Registry fleet management, and troubleshooting. Part of the agents-cli skills suite. Do NOT use for deployment (use google-agents-cli-deploy).
google-agents-cli-eval
google/agents-cli
This skill should be used when the user wants to "run an evaluation", "evaluate my agent", "evaluate my ADK agent", "write an eval dataset", "analyze eval failures", "compare eval results", "optimize agent", or needs guidance on the Gemini platform eval methodology and the Quality Flywheel. Covers eval metrics, dataset schema, LLM-as-judge scoring, and common failure causes. Applies to any agents-cli project, whatever framework the agent is written in. Do NOT use for agent API code patterns (ADK: use google-agents-cli-adk-code), deployment (use google-agents-cli-deploy), or project scaffolding (use google-agents-cli-scaffold).

codex-pet
prime-skills/runcomfy-agent-skills
Codex Pet generator on RunComfy. Build a Codex-compatible Codex Pet spritesheet.webp + pet.json from a single reference image, drop it into ${CODEXHOME:-$HOME/.codex}/pets/ / and Codex picks it up as a custom Codex Pet next to the 8 built-ins. This skill produces the exact Codex Pet atlas Codex expects (1536x1872 PNG/WebP, 8 cols x 9 rows, 192x208 cells, 9 animation states — idle, running-right, running-left, waving, jumping, failed, waiting, running, review). Calls OpenAI GPT Image 2 edit ONCE via the local RunComfy CLI as runcomfy run openai/gpt-image-2/edit to produce a canonical Codex Pet pose, then assembles all 9 animation rows programmatically with ImageMagick micro-transforms — no Codex Pro, no $imagegen, no OPENAIAPIKEY required, only RUNCOMFYTOKEN. Triggers on "codex pet", "create codex pet", "make codex pet", "hatch codex pet", "/hatch image", "desktop pet codex", "codex pets", "spritesheet.webp", or any explicit ask to build a custom pet for OpenAI Codex.
