token-build
Set up or run the token build pipeline. Transform the DTCG tokens/.json (source of truth) into platform artifacts (CSS variables, Tailwind @theme, JS/TS, iOS Asset Catalog, Android, Compose) with Style Dictionary / Tokens Studio / W3C DTCG export. Use when the user wants to generate platform theme files from tokens, wire token CI, or multi-platform token output.

Install
Works with every agent the skills CLI supports.
npx skills add https://github.com/plugin87/ux-ui-agent-skills --skill token-build- 01
Install
Run the command in your project. The CLI asks which agents to install for.
- 02
Describe the task
Ask your agent for something this skill covers. It loads token-build automatically when relevant.
- 03
Review the result
The agent follows the SKILL.md steps, scripts and references bundled with the skill.
SKILL.md
The instructions your agent reads when the skill is triggered.
Skill: Token Build
Step 0: is the kit here? This skill reads files from the kit. Check once:
ls ${CLAUDE_SKILL_DIR}/../../../tokens >/dev/null 2>&1 && echo KIT_OK || echo KIT_MISSINGOnKIT_MISSINGonly the skill folders were installed, which is whatnpx skills adddoes. Say so plainly, point the user atnpx ux-ui-agent-skills initor the plugin install, and stop. Do not guess the contents of a file you could not open.
Turn the DTCG token source of truth into platform-ready outputs. Tokens are authored once; every platform output is generated.
Steps
- Read
${CLAUDE_SKILL_DIR}/../../../workflows/token-build.md(architecture, tool options, resolution rules, output targets, CI). - Pick the tool: Style Dictionary (multi-platform, the default), Tokens Studio (Figma-owned tokens; pairs with
figma-integration), W3C DTCG export, or a small custom script (model on${CLAUDE_SKILL_DIR}/../../../scripts/validate_tokens.py). - Honor the resolution rules: resolve aliases to final values per platform; expose semantic + component tokens (primitives stay internal); emit base + dark/brand/density overrides (
${CLAUDE_SKILL_DIR}/../../../tokens/theming.json) as deltas only; format by$type. - Generate the requested target(s): CSS
:rootvars, Tailwind v4@theme, typed JS/TS, iOS Asset Catalog +Color.DS/Spacing, Androidcolors.xml/Compose theme. - Wire CI: on
${CLAUDE_SKILL_DIR}/../../../tokens/*.jsonchange, run${CLAUDE_SKILL_DIR}/../../../scripts/validate_tokens.py, regenerate, fail if committed artifacts are stale; gate colors with${CLAUDE_SKILL_DIR}/../../../scripts/contrast.py.
Verification (definition of done)
python3 ${CLAUDE_SKILL_DIR}/../../../scripts/validate_tokens.pypasses (no unresolved aliases).- Regenerating produces no diff vs. committed artifacts.
- Dark/brand/density outputs contain only deltas, not full duplicates.
FAQ
What does the token-build skill do?
Set up or run the token build pipeline. Transform the DTCG tokens/.json (source of truth) into platform artifacts (CSS variables, Tailwind @theme, JS/TS, iOS Asset Catalog, Android, Compose) with Style Dictionary / Tokens Studio / W3C DTCG export. Use when the user wants to generate platform theme files from tokens, wire token CI, or multi-platform token output.
How do I install token-build?
Run npx skills add https://github.com/plugin87/ux-ui-agent-skills --skill token-build in your project. The skills CLI detects the agents you use and copies the skill into the right folder. For Claude Code you can also place the skill folder at ~/.claude/skills/token-build/ (personal) or .claude/skills/token-build/ (project).
Which AI agents can use token-build?
Any agent that supports the open Agent Skills format (a folder with a SKILL.md file), including Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Gemini CLI, Windsurf, Cline, OpenCode and more.
Is token-build safe to install?
No partner security audit is available yet. Skills can run commands and scripts, so read the SKILL.md and any bundled files before installing.

image-to-code
plugin87/ux-ui-agent-skills
Turn a reference image, screenshot, or mockup into token-driven, accessible code. Infer the design system from the reference (palette, type scale, spacing, radius, layout archetype), map it to the 3-tier tokens, rebuild it, then verify with the kit's gates. Use when the user provides a design/screenshot and wants matching UI code.
design-review
plugin87/ux-ui-agent-skills
Review or audit a design/UI across 6 weighted dimensions with Nielsen's 10 heuristics and a prioritized findings table. Use when the user wants a design critique, quality score, heuristic evaluation, or audit of an existing screen, page, or product before/after build.
a11y-audit
plugin87/ux-ui-agent-skills
Audit a UI or design against WCAG 2.2 AA/AAA and ARIA patterns, returning criterion-referenced findings with severity and specific fixes. Use when the user wants an accessibility check, contrast verification, keyboard/screen-reader review, or wants to confirm a component meets POUR.
design-tokens
plugin87/ux-ui-agent-skills
Generate, extend, or audit design tokens in DTCG format with the 3-tier architecture (primitive → semantic → component). Use when the user wants a color palette, type scale, spacing/shadow/radius/motion tokens, multi-brand theming, or wants to validate token files. Covers colors, typography, spacing, shadows, borders, breakpoints, motion, gradients, opacity, blur, sizing, states, theming.
redesign
plugin87/ux-ui-agent-skills
Upgrade an existing website or app to premium quality without breaking functionality. Audit the current design, identify generic/AI tells, then apply taste and system rules surgically. Use when the user wants to improve, modernize, polish, or "make better" an existing UI/codebase.
apply-aesthetic
plugin87/ux-ui-agent-skills
Apply a visual direction, an archetype (high-end agency, editorial minimal, brutalist, soft-SaaS, dark-tech) or one of 2,144 named design systems (apple, linear-app, stripe, vercel, notion, material, shadcn, spotify, tesla…), by resolving it into the token system. Use when the user wants a specific look/vibe/brand feel, or asks to make a design feel premium/expensive/non-generic.
