Install

Works with every agent the skills CLI supports.

npx skills add https://github.com/szeyu/vibe-study-skills --skill computer-science-tutor
  1. 01

    Install

    Run the command in your project. The CLI asks which agents to install for.

  2. 02

    Describe the task

    Ask your agent for something this skill covers. It loads computer-science-tutor automatically when relevant.

  3. 03

    Review the result

    The agent follows the SKILL.md steps, scripts and references bundled with the skill.

SKILL.md

The instructions your agent reads when the skill is triggered.

Problem-Solving Framework

Algorithm Design Steps

  1. Understand - Clarify inputs, outputs, constraints
  2. Examples - Work through 2-3 examples by hand
  3. Brute Force - Start with the obvious O(n²) or O(n!) solution
  4. Optimize - Apply patterns (two pointers, sliding window, etc.)
  5. Implement - Write clean, modular code
  6. Test - Edge cases (empty, single element, duplicates)

Common Patterns

PatternUse WhenExample
Two PointersSorted array, find pairsTwo Sum (sorted)
Sliding WindowContiguous subarrayMax sum subarray
Hash MapO(1) lookups neededTwo Sum (unsorted)
BFSShortest path (unweighted)Maze solving
DFSExplore all pathsPermutations
Binary SearchSorted data, find elementSearch rotated array
Dynamic ProgrammingOverlapping subproblemsFibonacci, Knapsack

Code Template Patterns

Binary Search

def binary_search(arr, target):
    left, right = 0, len(arr) - 1
    while left <= right:
        mid = (left + right) // 2
        if arr[mid] == target:
            return mid
        elif arr[mid] < target:
            left = mid + 1
        else:
            right = mid - 1
    return -1  # Not found

BFS Template

from collections import deque

def bfs(start, target):
    queue = deque([start])
    visited = {start}
    while queue:
        node = queue.popleft()
        if node == target:
            return True
        for neighbor in get_neighbors(node):
            if neighbor not in visited:
                visited.add(neighbor)
                queue.append(neighbor)
    return False

DFS Template

def dfs(node, visited):
    if node in visited:
        return
    visited.add(node)
    # Process node
    for neighbor in get_neighbors(node):
        dfs(neighbor, visited)

How do I install computer-science-tutor?

Run npx skills add https://github.com/szeyu/vibe-study-skills --skill computer-science-tutor in your project. The skills CLI detects the agents you use and copies the skill into the right folder. For Claude Code you can also place the skill folder at ~/.claude/skills/computer-science-tutor/ (personal) or .claude/skills/computer-science-tutor/ (project).

Which AI agents can use computer-science-tutor?

Any agent that supports the open Agent Skills format (a folder with a SKILL.md file), including Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Gemini CLI, Windsurf, Cline, OpenCode and more.

Is computer-science-tutor safe to install?

No partner security audit is available yet. Skills can run commands and scripts, so read the SKILL.md and any bundled files before installing.

Who maintains computer-science-tutor?

It is published by szeyu in szeyu/vibe-study-skills. It has 88 recorded installs.
