Working with Different Model Providers
Volcano Engine (Doubao)
{
"env": {
"MODEL": "Doubao-Seed-2.0-pro",
"BASE_URL": "https://ark.cn-beijing.volces.com/api/v3",
"API_KEY": "${VOLCANO_API_KEY}"
}
}
Coding Plan (Volcano Engine)
{
"env": {
"MODEL": "ark-code-latest",
"BASE_URL": "https://ark.cn-beijing.volces.com/api/coding/v3",
"API_KEY": "${VOLCANO_API_KEY}"
},
"thinkingEnabled": true
}

{
"env": {
"MODEL": "gpt-4",
"BASE_URL": "https://api.openai.com/v1",
"API_KEY": "${OPENAI_API_KEY}"
}
}
Notifications
Configure a notification script to alert you when long-running tasks complete:
{
"notify": "/usr/local/bin/notify-slack.sh"
}
Example notification script (notify-slack.sh):
#!/bin/bash
WEBHOOK_URL="${SLACK_WEBHOOK_URL}"
MESSAGE="DeepCode task completed!"
curl -X POST -H 'Content-type: application/json' \
--data "{\"text\":\"$MESSAGE\"}" \
"$WEBHOOK_URL"
Web Search Integration
Enable web search capability:
{
"webSearchTool": "/usr/local/bin/web-search.sh"
}
DeepCode includes a built-in free web search tool. Custom scripts allow you to integrate specific search providers.
Initializing Agent Configuration
Use /init to create an AGENTS.md file in your project. This file provides context to the AI about your project structure, conventions, and guidelines.
Example AGENTS.md:
# Project Context for AI Agents
## Tech Stack
- TypeScript
- React
- Node.js
- PostgreSQL
## Code Conventions
- Use functional components
- Prefer async/await over promises
- All API routes in `src/api/`
- Tests in `__tests__/` directory
## Database
- Prisma ORM
- Migrations in `prisma/migrations/`
## Common Tasks
- Run tests: `npm test`
- Start dev server: `npm run dev`
- Build: `npm run build`
Troubleshooting
"API Key not configured"
Ensure API_KEY is set in ~/.deepcode/settings.json or as environment variable DEEPCODE_API_KEY.
Skills not loading
- Check skills are in
~/.agents/skills/or./.agents/skills/ - Verify
SKILL.mdfiles have valid YAML frontmatter - Use
/skillsto see loaded skills
MCP server not connecting
- Run
/mcpto see error messages - Verify server package is installed:
npx -y @modelcontextprotocol/server-github - Check environment variables are set correctly
- Ensure
commandandargsin config match server requirements
Model responses interrupted
Press Esc to stop current response. If responses consistently fail, check:
- Model name is correct
- Base URL is accessible
- API key has sufficient credits
- Token limits (
maxTokens) are appropriate
Context cache not working
Context caching is automatic for DeepSeek models. To verify:
- Use
deepseek-v4-proordeepseek-v4-flash - BASE_URL should be
https://api.deepseek.com - Check API dashboard for cache hit rates
Configuration not taking effect
Remember priority order:
- Project
./.deepcode/settings.json - User
~/.deepcode/settings.json - Environment variables
- Defaults
Check which config file is being used and verify JSON syntax is valid.

Popular ai & agents skills
google-agents-cli-publish
google/agents-cli
This skill should be used when the user wants to "publish an agent", "publish my ADK agent", "register an agent with Gemini", "publish to Gemini" (formerly Gemini Enterprise), or needs guidance on the agents-cli publish gemini command. Also use when the user wants to "manage agents in Agent Registry", "list/update/delete registered agents", or "register an MCP server". Covers ADK vs A2A registration modes, programmatic and interactive usage, flag reference, auto-detection from deployment metadata, Agent Registry fleet management, and troubleshooting. Part of the agents-cli skills suite. Do NOT use for deployment (use google-agents-cli-deploy).
google-agents-cli-eval
google/agents-cli
This skill should be used when the user wants to "run an evaluation", "evaluate my agent", "evaluate my ADK agent", "write an eval dataset", "analyze eval failures", "compare eval results", "optimize agent", or needs guidance on the Gemini platform eval methodology and the Quality Flywheel. Covers eval metrics, dataset schema, LLM-as-judge scoring, and common failure causes. Applies to any agents-cli project, whatever framework the agent is written in. Do NOT use for agent API code patterns (ADK: use google-agents-cli-adk-code), deployment (use google-agents-cli-deploy), or project scaffolding (use google-agents-cli-scaffold).
skill-creator
anthropics/skills
Create new skills, modify and improve existing skills, and measure skill performance. Use when users want to create a skill from scratch, edit, or optimize an existing skill, run evals to test a skill, benchmark skill performance with variance analysis, or optimize a skill's description for better triggering accuracy.
codex-pet
prime-skills/runcomfy-agent-skills
Codex Pet generator on RunComfy. Build a Codex-compatible Codex Pet spritesheet.webp + pet.json from a single reference image, drop it into ${CODEXHOME:-$HOME/.codex}/pets/ / and Codex picks it up as a custom Codex Pet next to the 8 built-ins. This skill produces the exact Codex Pet atlas Codex expects (1536x1872 PNG/WebP, 8 cols x 9 rows, 192x208 cells, 9 animation states — idle, running-right, running-left, waving, jumping, failed, waiting, running, review). Calls OpenAI GPT Image 2 edit ONCE via the local RunComfy CLI as runcomfy run openai/gpt-image-2/edit to produce a canonical Codex Pet pose, then assembles all 9 animation rows programmatically with ImageMagick micro-transforms — no Codex Pro, no $imagegen, no OPENAIAPIKEY required, only RUNCOMFYTOKEN. Triggers on "codex pet", "create codex pet", "make codex pet", "hatch codex pet", "/hatch image", "desktop pet codex", "codex pets", "spritesheet.webp", or any explicit ask to build a custom pet for OpenAI Codex.
full-output-enforcement
