1. Start a New Project
/video
# Select "Create new project"
# Choose template (e.g., sprint-review-v2)
# Specify brand profile
# Answer planning questions
2. Define Scenes
The toolkit uses a scene-based workflow. Each scene has:
- Intent: What to show (description)
- Visual type: demo-recording, stats-screen, title-screen, etc.
- Duration: Length in seconds
- Assets: Required files (videos, images, audio)
Example project.json scene:
{
"intent": "Show iOS app login screen with animation",
"visualType": "demo-recording",
"duration": 8,
"assets": {
"video": {
"status": "needed",
"path": null
}
}
}
3. Generate Assets
# Record demo with Playwright
/record-demo

--output projects/my-project/audio/voiceover.mp3 \
--voice $ELEVENLABS_VOICE_ID
# Generate AI image
python tools/qwen_edit.py \
--prompt "futuristic tech background, dark blue" \
--output projects/my-project/assets/background.png
# Generate AI music
python tools/acestep.py \
--prompt "upbeat electronic, tech demo" \
--duration 60 \
--output projects/my-project/audio/music.mp3
4. Review in Remotion Studio
cd projects/my-project
npm run studio
# Opens http://localhost:3000 for live preview
5. Render Final Video
cd projects/my-project
npm run render
# Outputs to out/video.mp4

Common Patterns
Overlay Text on Video
import { Video, AbsoluteFill } from 'remotion';
export const OverlayScene: React.FC = () => (
<AbsoluteFill>
<Video src="demo.mp4" />
<AbsoluteFill style={{
justifyContent: 'flex-end',
padding: 40
}}>
<h2 style={{ color: 'white', fontSize: 48 }}>
Feature Demo
</h2>
</AbsoluteFill>
</AbsoluteFill>
);
Animated Stats
import { useCurrentFrame } from 'remotion';
import { interpolate } from 'remotion';
export const StatsScene: React.FC = () => {
const frame = useCurrentFrame();
const value = Math.floor(interpolate(frame, [0, 60], [0, 1247]));
return (
<AbsoluteFill style={{
justifyContent: 'center',
alignItems: 'center'
}}>
<div style={{ fontSize: 120, fontWeight: 'bold' }}>
{value.toLocaleString()}
</div>
<div style={{ fontSize: 36, marginTop: 20 }}>
GitHub Stars
</div>
</AbsoluteFill>
);
};
Audio Sync
import { Audio, useCurrentFrame } from 'remotion';
export const NarratedScene: React.FC = () => {
const frame = useCurrentFrame();
const fps = 30;
// Show text at specific timestamps
const showText = frame > fps * 2.5 && frame < fps * 5;
return (
<AbsoluteFill>
<Audio src="voiceover.mp3" />
{showText && <h2>This appears during narration</h2>}
</AbsoluteFill>
);
};

Troubleshooting
Remotion render fails with memory error
# Increase Node memory
export NODE_OPTIONS="--max-old-space-size=8192"
npm run render
ElevenLabs voice sounds robotic
- Reduce
stability(0.3-0.5 for more natural) - Increase
similarityBoost(0.7-0.9) - Use
eleven_multilingual_v2model
Modal deployment fails
# Reinstall Modal
pip install --upgrade modal
# Check authentication
modal token new
# Verify deployment
modal app list
Video preview is choppy in Remotion Studio
- Reduce preview quality in Studio settings
- Use proxy videos (lower resolution) during editing
- Increase RAM available to Node.js
Transitions not working
# Ensure @remotion/transitions is installed
cd projects/my-project
npm install @remotion/transitions
Voice clone quality is poor
- Use at least 1 minute of clear audio
- Remove background noise
- Speak at consistent volume and pace
- Use ElevenLabs professional voice cloning (paid tier)

hyperframes
heygen-com/hyperframes
Read first to make, edit, animate or render any video with HyperFrames (HTML rendered to video), including launch films, explainers, music videos, charts, maps, vertical clips, title cards, captions and overlays. Holds the render contract, the work loop and what each kind of video needs.
media-use
heygen-com/hyperframes
Get or make any media for a HyperFrames video - music, sound effects, images, icons, logos, voiceover, avatar and generated video, transcripts, cutouts, colour grades and looks - with HeyGen or free local tools, and mix placed audio. Also for footage that looks dark, flat or dull, or should be stylized or hidden.
hyperframes-registry
heygen-com/hyperframes
About 450 ready-made HyperFrames blocks and components installed as editable source - transitions, overlays, titles, kinetic type, captions, charts, map overlays, 3D, camera moves. Use it before hand-building any named visual (CRT scanlines, glitch, film grain, a chart); also for hyperframes add and catalog.
hyperframes-creative
heygen-com/hyperframes
Non-animation creative direction for HyperFrames videos. Use for design spec (frame.md / design.md) handling, palettes, typography, narration, beat planning, audio-reactive visuals, composition patterns, and brand / style decisions. For atomic motion patterns and scene blueprints, use hyperframes-animation.
