ArkType Validation
Overview
ArkType is a TypeScript-native runtime validation library that defines schemas using string expressions mirroring TypeScript syntax, providing editor autocomplete, syntax highlighting, and optimized validators. Use when building type-safe APIs, validating JSON payloads, or replacing Zod with a more TypeScript-idiomatic approach. Not suitable for projects that need Zod ecosystem compatibility or JSON Schema output.
Package: arktype
Quick Reference
| Pattern | Usage |
|---|---|
type({ key: "string" }) | Define object schema |
type("string") | Primitive type |
"string.email", "string.url" | Built-in string validators |
"string.trim", "string.lower" | Built-in string morphs (transforms) |
"string.json.parse" | Parse JSON string to validated object |
"number > 0", "string >= 1" | Inline constraints |
"string | number" | Union types |
"'a' | 'b' | 'c'" | String literal unions |
"string[]" | Array types |
"key?": "string" | Optional properties |
"key = 'default'" | Default values |
.pipe(), .to() | Transform output (morphs) |
.narrow() | Custom validation (like Zod refine) |
.pick(), .omit() | Object property selection |
.merge() | Combine object types |
scope({...}).export() | Named type scopes with cross-references |
type("<t>", { box: "t" }) | Generic type definitions |
type.errors | Error handling (check instanceof type.errors) |
.assert(data) | Throws on invalid input instead of returning |
"(number % 2)#even" | Branding — type-only validated marker |
"0 <= number <= 100" | Compact range constraints |
configure() | Global defaults (from arktype/config) |
match() | Type-safe pattern matching (2.1) |
"+" : "reject" | Inline undeclared key handling |
arkenv({ PORT: "number" }) | Typesafe env var validation (ArkEnv) |
arkenvVitePlugin(Env) | Build-time env validation for Vite |
Common Mistakes
| Mistake | Fix |
|---|---|
type("string.email()") with parens | type("string.email") (no parens) |
Checking errors with === null | Use instanceof type.errors |
{ key: "string?" } for optional | { "key?": "string" } (question mark on key) |
Importing from arktype/types | Import type and scope from "arktype" |
Nested type() in string expressions | Use scope() for cross-referencing types |
Raw .pipe() without error handling | Use .pipe.try() for operations that can throw |
"string.lowercase" for case morph | "string.lower" (also "string.upper") |
Configuring after importing arktype | Import arktype/config before arktype |
Manual process.env parsing | Use arkenv() for auto-coercion and validation |
Delegation
Use this skill for ArkType schema definitions, runtime validation, morphs/transforms, scopes, and type inference. For Zod-based validation, delegate to the zod-validation skill.

FAQ
What does the arktype-validation skill do?
ArkType runtime validation with TypeScript-native syntax. Type-safe schemas using string expressions, morphs, scopes, and generics. Includes ArkEnv for typesafe environment variable validation with auto-coercion and Vite plugin. Use when defining schemas, validating data, transforming input, building type-safe APIs with ArkType, or validating environment variables with ArkEnv.
How do I install arktype-validation?
Run npx skills add https://github.com/oakoss/agent-skills --skill arktype-validation in your project. The skills CLI detects the agents you use and copies the skill into the right folder. For Claude Code you can also place the skill folder at ~/.claude/skills/arktype-validation/ (personal) or .claude/skills/arktype-validation/ (project).
Which AI agents can use arktype-validation?
Any agent that supports the open Agent Skills format (a folder with a SKILL.md file), including Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Gemini CLI, Windsurf, Cline, OpenCode and more.
Is arktype-validation safe to install?
No partner security audit is available yet. Skills can run commands and scripts, so read the SKILL.md and any bundled files before installing.
Who maintains arktype-validation?
It is published by oakoss in oakoss/agent-skills. It has 142 recorded installs.

google-agents-cli-publish
google/agents-cli
This skill should be used when the user wants to "publish an agent", "publish my ADK agent", "register an agent with Gemini", "publish to Gemini" (formerly Gemini Enterprise), or needs guidance on the agents-cli publish gemini command. Also use when the user wants to "manage agents in Agent Registry", "list/update/delete registered agents", or "register an MCP server". Covers ADK vs A2A registration modes, programmatic and interactive usage, flag reference, auto-detection from deployment metadata, Agent Registry fleet management, and troubleshooting. Part of the agents-cli skills suite. Do NOT use for deployment (use google-agents-cli-deploy).
google-agents-cli-eval
google/agents-cli
This skill should be used when the user wants to "run an evaluation", "evaluate my agent", "evaluate my ADK agent", "write an eval dataset", "analyze eval failures", "compare eval results", "optimize agent", or needs guidance on the Gemini platform eval methodology and the Quality Flywheel. Covers eval metrics, dataset schema, LLM-as-judge scoring, and common failure causes. Applies to any agents-cli project, whatever framework the agent is written in. Do NOT use for agent API code patterns (ADK: use google-agents-cli-adk-code), deployment (use google-agents-cli-deploy), or project scaffolding (use google-agents-cli-scaffold).

codex-pet
prime-skills/runcomfy-agent-skills
Codex Pet generator on RunComfy. Build a Codex-compatible Codex Pet spritesheet.webp + pet.json from a single reference image, drop it into ${CODEXHOME:-$HOME/.codex}/pets/ / and Codex picks it up as a custom Codex Pet next to the 8 built-ins. This skill produces the exact Codex Pet atlas Codex expects (1536x1872 PNG/WebP, 8 cols x 9 rows, 192x208 cells, 9 animation states — idle, running-right, running-left, waving, jumping, failed, waiting, running, review). Calls OpenAI GPT Image 2 edit ONCE via the local RunComfy CLI as runcomfy run openai/gpt-image-2/edit to produce a canonical Codex Pet pose, then assembles all 9 animation rows programmatically with ImageMagick micro-transforms — no Codex Pro, no $imagegen, no OPENAIAPIKEY required, only RUNCOMFYTOKEN. Triggers on "codex pet", "create codex pet", "make codex pet", "hatch codex pet", "/hatch image", "desktop pet codex", "codex pets", "spritesheet.webp", or any explicit ask to build a custom pet for OpenAI Codex.
