Install

Works with every agent the skills CLI supports.

npx skills add https://github.com/ihlamury/design-skills --skill retool-ui-skills
  1. 01

    Install

Run the command in your project. The CLI asks which agents to install for.

  2. 02

    Describe the task

Ask your agent for something this skill covers. It loads retool-ui-skills automatically when relevant.

  3. 03

    Review the result

The agent follows the SKILL.md steps, scripts and references bundled with the skill.

SKILL.md

The instructions your agent reads when the skill is triggered.

Retool UI Skills

Opinionated constraints for building Retool-style interfaces with AI agents.

When to Apply

Reference these guidelines when:

  • Building light-mode interfaces

  • MUST use #80AEF2 for primary actions and focus states (accent)
  • SHOULD reduce color palette (currently 21 colors detected)
  • MUST maintain text contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1 for accessibility

Semantic Tokens

Typography

  • MUST use Inter as primary font family
  • SHOULD use single font family for consistency
  • MUST use 54px / 700 for primary headings
  • MUST use 19px / 500 for body text
  • SHOULD reduce font weights (currently 4 detected)
  • MUST use text-balance for headings and text-pretty for body text
  • SHOULD use tabular-nums for numeric data
  • NEVER modify letter-spacing unless explicitly requested
