Install
Works with every agent the skills CLI supports.
npx skills add https://github.com/everyinc/compound-engineering-plugin --skill ce-test-xcode- 01
Install
Run the command in your project. The CLI asks which agents to install for.
- 02
Describe the task
Ask your agent for something this skill covers. It loads ce-test-xcode automatically when relevant.
- 03
Review the result
The agent follows the SKILL.md steps, scripts and references bundled with the skill.
SKILL.md
The instructions your agent reads when the skill is triggered.
Xcode Simulator Test
Build and exercise an iOS app on a simulator, preserving screenshots, logs, human-verification results, and failures as evidence for the user.
Done:
- A completed run reports overall
PASS,FAIL, orPARTIALplus project, scheme, simulator, build result, per-surfacePASS/FAIL/SKIP, console errors, human checks, and residual failures. - Per-surface status is derived from evidence, not the user's routing choice.
PASSrequires completed passing evidence.FAILrecords observed failing evidence until a completed retest replaces it.SKIPmeans the check has no completed outcome. - The overall result is
FAILwhile any failure remains,PARTIALwhen no failure remains but a scoped check is skipped, and otherwisePASS. - Any failure before the app is launched with log capture running stops later stages and reports an actionable setup blocker with its evidence.
Boundaries: this skill tests and reports. Diagnosis and any user-approved product fix belong to ce-debug, invoked with its authority narrowed so it returns here without committing, pushing, or opening a PR. Keep simulator interaction within the app and flows the user placed in scope.
Run
- Prepare and launch. Read
references/setup-and-build.md. It defines the XcodeBuildMCP availability check, project and scheme discovery, simulator choice, build, install, launch, and log-capture start. - Exercise and report. After launch, read
references/test-and-report.md. It defines per-screen evidence, human-only flows, the SwiftUI inline-link automation limitation, what to do when a check fails, cleanup, and the fixed summary fields.
Do not replace either required read with remembered tool names. XcodeBuildMCP adapters differ by host, while their observable success conditions do not.
FAQ
What does the ce-test-xcode skill do?
Test iOS apps in a simulator with XcodeBuildMCP. Use when iOS changes need simulator evidence before handoff.
How do I install ce-test-xcode?
Run npx skills add https://github.com/everyinc/compound-engineering-plugin --skill ce-test-xcode in your project. The skills CLI detects the agents you use and copies the skill into the right folder. For Claude Code you can also place the skill folder at ~/.claude/skills/ce-test-xcode/ (personal) or .claude/skills/ce-test-xcode/ (project).
Which AI agents can use ce-test-xcode?
Any agent that supports the open Agent Skills format (a folder with a SKILL.md file), including Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Gemini CLI, Windsurf, Cline, OpenCode and more.
Is ce-test-xcode safe to install?
No partner security audit is available yet. Skills can run commands and scripts, so read the SKILL.md and any bundled files before installing.

ce-brainstorm
everyinc/compound-engineering-plugin
Explore vague or ambitious ideas into a right-sized requirements-only unified plan. Use when the user wants to brainstorm or scope what to build. Not for executing already-specified work. Use ce-pov for a verdict on adopting a named external technology.
ce-code-review
everyinc/compound-engineering-plugin
Review a named diff or PR for bugs, regressions, tests, and standards. Use when asked to review code or when a shipping skill needs a review receipt. Use when asked to apply this review's findings locally. Use ce-resolve-pr-feedback for feedback already left on a PR.
ce-plan
everyinc/compound-engineering-plugin
Create structured plans for multi-step work, including software and non-software tasks. Use when asked to plan, break down implementation, plan from requirements, or deepen an existing plan; prefer ce-brainstorm for exploratory framing.
ce-compound
everyinc/compound-engineering-plugin
Document a solved problem as a durable repo learning. Use when verified work produced non-obvious reasoning absent from its final code, tests, or existing docs; avoid routine fixes whose artifacts already explain the lesson.
ce-doc-review
everyinc/compound-engineering-plugin
Review requirements, plans, or specs with role-specific lenses. Use when the user wants to improve an existing planning document.
ce-work
everyinc/compound-engineering-plugin
Execute a plan or concrete work prompt end-to-end. Use when implementing from a plan document, a spec path, or a clear build request; use ce-debug for open-ended bugs. Use when an outer orchestrator needs implementation and local verification only, without the shipping tail.

animate-expo
emilkowalski/skills
Build animations in React Native and Expo, making the decisions in the order that determines whether they feel right — should it animate, which thread it runs on, which properties, spring or timing, how the gesture hands off, how it degrades. Writes the implementation with Reanimated, Gesture Handler, Expo Router and expo-haptics. Use when animating anything in an Expo app, adding gestures, sheets, screen transitions, press feedback or haptics, or fixing motion that stutters on device. For web animation use animate.
