Install
Works with every agent the skills CLI supports.
npx skills add https://github.com/camacho/ai-skills --skill archive- 01
Install
Run the command in your project. The CLI asks which agents to install for.
- 02
Describe the task
Ask your agent for something this skill covers. It loads archive automatically when relevant.
- 03
Review the result
The agent follows the SKILL.md steps, scripts and references bundled with the skill.
SKILL.md
The instructions your agent reads when the skill is triggered.
Inputs
WORKTREE: absolute path to current worktree (resolve from session CWD orgit rev-parse --show-toplevel)- Plan file path (default: most recent non-
.done.mdin$WORKTREE/ai-workspace/plans/)
Steps
-
Find the plan file:
ls -t "$WORKTREE/ai-workspace/plans/"*.md | grep -v '.done.md' | head -1If plan is already
.done.md→ error: "Already archived." -
Read the plan file to understand what was planned.
-
Gather outcomes: Ask the user (or infer from git log + branch context):
- What worked well?
- What didn't go as planned?
- What would you do differently?
If user skips → write "Outcomes: not recorded" (don't block).
-
Write Outcomes & Learnings section to the plan file:
## Outcomes & Learnings **Completed**: [date] ### What Worked - [bullet points] ### What Didn't - [bullet points] ### Learnings - [bullet points] -
Rename to .done.md:
git -C "$WORKTREE" mv ai-workspace/plans/<name>.md ai-workspace/plans/<name>.done.md -
Commit the archive:
git -C "$WORKTREE" add ai-workspace/plans/<name>.done.md git -C "$WORKTREE" commit -m "docs: archive plan <name> Co-Authored-By: Claude <model>"
Output: Confirmation that the plan is archived with path to .done.md file.

What does the archive skill do?
Fills Outcomes & Learnings in a plan file and renames it to .done.md.
How do I install archive?
Run npx skills add https://github.com/camacho/ai-skills --skill archive in your project. The skills CLI detects the agents you use and copies the skill into the right folder. For Claude Code you can also place the skill folder at ~/.claude/skills/archive/ (personal) or .claude/skills/archive/ (project).
Which AI agents can use archive?
Any agent that supports the open Agent Skills format (a folder with a SKILL.md file), including Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Gemini CLI, Windsurf, Cline, OpenCode and more.
Is archive safe to install?
No partner security audit is available yet. Skills can run commands and scripts, so read the SKILL.md and any bundled files before installing.
Who maintains archive?
