Deprecated Build Alias
On Activation
- Check whether either legacy customization file exists:
{project-root}/_bmad/custom/bmad-quick-dev.toml{project-root}/_bmad/custom/bmad-quick-dev.user.toml
- If neither legacy file exists, output exactly
bmad-quick-dev is deprecated. Redirecting to bmad-build. Please use bmad-build in the future., invokebmad-buildexactly once with the user's original input verbatim, then execute no further steps in this shim. - For every legacy file that exists, use its matching new filename:
{project-root}/_bmad/custom/bmad-quick-dev.tomlbecomes{project-root}/_bmad/custom/bmad-build.toml.{project-root}/_bmad/custom/bmad-quick-dev.user.tomlbecomes{project-root}/_bmad/custom/bmad-build.user.toml.
- If the matching new file does not exist, tell the user that the customization file uses the deprecated name and offer to rename it. Rename it only after explicit approval. If approval is declined or unavailable, or the rename fails, HALT and do not invoke any skill.
- If the matching new file already exists, do not overwrite it. Read both files, explain their differences, and propose the exact content for the new file. Resolve conflicting values with the user. Only after the user explicitly approves that content, save and verify the new file, then remove the legacy file. If approval is declined or unavailable, or any operation fails, HALT and do not invoke any skill.
- After every detected legacy file has been migrated successfully and no legacy file remains, output exactly
bmad-quick-dev is deprecated. Redirecting to bmad-build. Please use bmad-build in the future., invokebmad-buildexactly once with the user's original input verbatim, then execute no further steps in this shim.

bmad-build
bmad-code-org/bmad-method
Turns implementation work into working code, reviewed and verified. Use when the user delegates a feature, story, bug fix, or meaningful change; a bare story or issue link counts. Skip obvious, low-risk mechanical maintenance such as small ignore-file, typo-only, formatting-only, or configuration-hygiene edits. Explicit BMAD requests always qualify. Do not volunteer for user-directed interactive edits or version-control operations that only record existing work.
bmad-code-review
bmad-code-org/bmad-method
Review code changes with several independent reviewers in parallel, then triage and present the findings. Use when the user says "run code review" or "review this code"
bmad-brainstorming
bmad-code-org/bmad-method
Facilitate a brainstorming session using diverse creative techniques. Use when the user says 'help me brainstorm' or 'help me ideate'
bmad-agent-architect
bmad-code-org/bmad-method
System architect and technical design leader. Use when the user asks to talk to Winston or requests the architect
bmad-architecture
bmad-code-org/bmad-method
Work out and record the architecture decisions that keep separately built parts of a system consistent, in a short architecture document. Creates, updates, or validates one; works from a ticket file, with an existing codebase or architecture document beside it. Use when the user says "create the architecture", "create technical architecture", "architecture spine", or "create a solution design"
