Installation

Open your Cursor settings
Navigate to the MCP section
Add the following configuration to your mcp.json:

Usage

In Cursor, you can use the following commands:

/stock-news latest - Get the latest stock market news
/stock-news company [symbol] - Get news for a specific company (e.g., AAPL, GOOGL)
/stock-news market-summary - Get current market summary
/stock-news trending - Get trending stock news
/stock-news calendar - Get upcoming economic events

Data Sources

This MCP uses the following data sources:

Alpha Vantage API for real-time stock data and news
Yahoo Finance API for additional market data
Financial Modeling Prep API for company-specific news
