Remote-MCP Import Test

This repository contains a simple test case that demonstrates the import issue described in Remote-MCP issue #5.

The Issue

When trying to use default import with the Remote-MCP client:

import RemoteMCPClient from "@remote-mcp/client";

A SyntaxError occurs because the module doesn't properly support default imports.

Running the Test

Testing against published package

1. Clone this repository
2. Run pnpm install
3. Run pnpm test

Testing against local development copy

To test a fix in a local copy of Remote-MCP:

1. In your local Remote-MCP repository:

   cd packages/client
   pnpm link --global
   

   Copy

2. In this test repository:

   pnpm link --global @remote-mcp/client
   pnpm test
   

   Copy

Expected Fix

The package needs to properly support both default and named imports:

// Default import
import RemoteMCPClient from "@remote-mcp/client";

// Named import
import { RemoteMCPClient as NamedClient } from "@remote-mcp/client";
